Long gone is the blood curdling screamer from Waking the Fallen what remains in his stead is a hard rock voice with a strength and tone no less unique than the icons known only by one name: Ozzy. The sonic maturation that A7X has shown on every disc continues not only instrumentally but also in the vocal timbre of singer M. Musically, Nightmare picks up where 2007's self titled release left off. On Tuesday, A7X will release that record, now called Nightmare, which is not only the last physical recording of The Rev's legacy, but also his tribute. Same as for everyone of us, we could sometimes miss someones we loved who are far away but we have to let them go and let them stay in our memories."On Christmas 2009, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan handed in a demo for a song he had written entitled "Death" and proclaimed, "That's it, that's the last song for this record." Three days later, the Avenged Sevenfold drummer was found in his home, dead from a lethal mix of prescription drugs and alcohol. The lyrics show how they have let him go and express how strong they have been to the passing of The Rev, so he could rest in peace foREVer. But I'll see you when He lets me, your pain is gone your hands untied". The Lyrics are strongly reflecting the feeling of the band and the family to The Rev, and what I found really powerful is some part of the lyrics said "I love you, you were ready, the pain is strong and urges rise.

In the middle of the song when there is an interlude, the guitar slowly breaks the silence followed by some low stroking drum sounds which then become so emotionally louder strokes. The "far away" here which means no longer in the world anymore really tells us about The Rev. The composition of the song looks simple with the guitar and simple drum tracks, expressing someone who is missing his loved ones who are so far away. The song is uniquely composed in such a great composition to interest people who listen to it. So Far Away, is a song from "Nightmare" album written by Synyster Gates, in tribute to The Rev. In the middle of the song when there is interlude, they show some photos and videos of The Rev and the band members, which I found very touching especially at the part when the drums stroking sounds getting emotionally louder and there are randomly The Rev's photos arranged with the drum strokes. Extremely cool, isn't it?Īnother new stuffs in tribute to The Rev are also the tattoo on Synyster's chest which is foREVer, with REV on the middle (we can see it very clear as he wears V-neck shirt) M.Shadows also has new tattoo on his hand, which is a skull head portraying The Rev as I can tell from the hair, in death bat logo (Avenged Sevenfold logo) with wings. Also, I notice Synyster's guitar custom (schecter) is no longer the one we usually see him playing because it is now written REV instead of SYN. FYI, four of them minus Johnny Christ were on the same grade at the same school while they know Johnny from his brother. Some stuffs I noticed on this video are there were only four of them minus Johnny Christ at some first childhood scenes, because Johnny started to know them when they created the band and were looking for a bassist. On this music video, we will be shown some childhood moments (well the young actors are not them) about since they start knowing each other, what they used to do when they were kids, where the place they used to hang out at, and most importantly the moments when they created this band, Avenged Sevenfold. So far away, which I've talked about on the previous post, has also been made on music video, directed by Wayne Isham.
